The significance of this post is how everyone used to live in their own country. Elli states that life would be better in America, because the life style is so different, like how it seems as if there is no one starving and the enforcement that the police officers do to you is different. They do not cause you to be hurt. Elli also knows that Americans have not seen or been in a war and they do not know what its like.
I can relate to this because The first time I went to London everything was so different, they drove on the other side of the road, and the drivers seat was on the other side too! Everyone seemed very nice and helpful. The first time I went my sister was still in a stroller, so every time we had to go up stairs or something like that there would always be someone there to help carry it up.
